August 14, 2009

POP PEPA in conjunction with UK law firm Pinsent Masons LLP has been selected as a finalist in the public tender for the provision of legal services to EnergoNuclear SA, the project company created to build the new nuclear units 3 and 4 at the Cernavoda nuclear power plant in Romania.

With respect to the selection managing partner Steven Pepa said: “We are most pleased to have been selected as one of the five finalists in what many consider the signature infrastructure development project in modern Romanian history.  The opportunity to work with our colleages at Pinsent Masons LLP on Cernavoda is greatly welcomed, and we look forward to the final selection based on price and legal technical capacity.”

Nuclearelectrica – the Romanian government owned nuclear company – holds 51% of EnergoNuclear, with other major participants being CEZ, GDF-SUEZ, Enel and RWE Power – each having a 9.15% stake – and ArcelorMittal and Iberdrola, each with a 6.2% stake.
